From a bold idea to a global presence, the story of INOVIS is deeply intertwined with the passion and foresight of one man — Andreas Hoesli. INOVIS Live Automation AG was officially founded in 1999, right in the heart of Switzerland. From the beginning, Andreas Hoesli had a clear vision — to develop intelligent automation solutions tailored to the most demanding industries. His goal was to provide smart, high-quality systems backed by Swiss precision and global thinking.
Thanks to his leadership, INOVIS quickly gained a reputation for reliability, innovation, and customer-centric thinking. Within just a few years, the company began to expand beyond its local roots.
A major milestone came in 2002 with the opening of INOVIS Live Automation Taiwan (ILAT) in Taipei. This strategic step established INOVIS as a truly international company, allowing us to work more closely with Asian markets and further streamline our manufacturing and engineering capabilities.
This expansion was more than a geographical move — it demonstrated Andreas’s deep understanding of global business dynamics and his ability to anticipate future trends. Under his guidance, ILAT became an essential part of the INOVIS Group, offering proximity, agility, and an extended reach in the global supply chain.
In 2007, Andreas once again showed his forward-thinking approach by establishing INOVIS Medical as an independent division. Recognizing the growing demand for automation in the medical and healthcare sectors, INOVIS Medical was created to develop specialized solutions tailored to this sensitive and rapidly evolving field.
This move not only diversified INOVIS’s portfolio but also allowed for focused innovation in critical areas such as medical device manufacturing, diagnostics, and laboratory automation. The result? Tailor-made solutions with the precision, safety, and reliability that the medical field requires — all developed under the trusted INOVIS brand.
Last year, 2024, marked a moment of pride and celebration for all of us — INOVIS turned 25. A quarter of a century of excellence, learning, and progress. We celebrated not just the passage of time, but the many achievements, challenges overcome, and relationships built over the years.
To crown this special occasion, INOVIS Switzerland moved into a new and larger facility in Rüti, a modern space designed to foster collaboration, efficiency, and innovation. With more room to grow and a better infrastructure to support our operations, we’re better equipped than ever to take on the challenges of tomorrow.
And the progress didn’t stop there. In early 2025, our team in Taiwan also took a significant step forward by relocating to a bigger, state-of-the-art office. This new location is more than just an upgrade — it allows for an expansion of the production line, greater innovation potential, and an improved working environment for our dedicated Taiwan team.
With more space, new technologies, and a vibrant team spirit, our Taiwan branch is now positioned to play an even bigger role in the INOVIS global network.
As we celebrate Andreas Hoesli’s 50th birthday, we also look forward to what’s next for INOVIS under his ongoing leadership. His energy, insight, and passion continue to inspire us every day. The future is filled with new challenges — digitalization, sustainability, smart manufacturing, and global collaboration — and we are ready to embrace them all.
